The Insatiable Shopper
Scouting the markeplace with Joy Kraft
Bag buys: Davran's in Tower Place Mall, downtown, is a must-stop for knock-off bags. Opened in September, the Atlanta-based shop is stocked with trendy designer look-alikes, including rich leathers and suedes as well as novelty bags with rhinestones and beadwork and tiny molded evening bags. This cocktail party bag is made with gold-tone wire, crystals and beads over a merlot-colored fabric, $47.50. All bags are usually 50 percent off. Beaded and leather belts, scarves and jewelry also deserve a look. Information: 684-9192.
Noel napkins: On Comet! On Cupid! On Donder! On Blitzen! To the top of the porch, to the top of the . . . bar. These ramie and cotton 6-inch-by-6-inch napkins, embroidered with Santa's eight reindeer in sweater and scarves and elegantly scripted names, lend an old-fashioned but whimsical look to the holiday hors d'oeuvre bar. At the Lavender Stick, 117 Main St., Milford. Set of eight, $24.50. Information: 248-2340.
Little hands: KidzMouse is for undersize computer jockeys with tiny hands. Mac and PC compatible, it works by squeezing instead of clicking and requires no special hardware to run. Just plug it in whenever the little ones sign on. Available in kid-fun designs, including this optical T-Rex at CompUSA and Micro Center stores. $23-$29.
