CCD students are AP scholars
Students from Cincinnati Country Day School have been named AP Scholars by the College Board, based on their performance on national college-level advanced-placement exams.
Most of the nation's colleges and universities award credit, advanced placement, or both for grades of 3 or higher on a 5-point scale.
Ted Appleton, Danny Ash, Katie Cordes, Janna DeVries, Jane Dimmitt, Palmer FitzHugh, Sarah Gerber, Sarika Govind, Allison Greenberg, Bailey Hopple, Brandon Kreines, Charles Kulwin, Paul Leesemann, Ian McLean, Rebecca Parrish, Benjamin Rosen, Emily Sberna, Emylie Smith, Robert Whitten and Ashley Zalta qualified as AP Scholars with Distinction by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
Michael Appleby, Neha Matta, Dylan Monroe, Lauren Plettner and David Ricaud qualified as AP Scholars with Honor by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more exams.
Timothy Bower, Anne Brownstein, Sandra Buban, Andrew Chahrour, Sara Huneke, Stephanie Nadler, David O'Maley, Mary Robinson, David Schmerler, Jaclyn Schwartz, Jamie Swango and Benjamin Tarshis qualified as AP Scholars by completing 3 or more exams with grades of 3 or higher.
Sutter honored
Sgt. William Sutter Jr. has been decorated with the U.S. Army Achievement Medal, awarded to soldiers who have distinguished themselves by meritorious service or achievement.
Sgt. Sutter is a network switching systems operator-maintainer at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii.
The graduate of Mason High School is the son of Delores Sutter of Mason.
Betsch a poet
Jason Betsch, a seventh-grader at White Oak Middle School, has won a Poetry.com contest. His poem, titled "Camp Tranquility," appears in Letters From The Soul and on the CD, The Sound of Poetry. He is the son of Debbie and Anthony Betsch of Monfort Heights.
