After 87 wins, Terps lose at home

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Anthony Roberson scored 20 points to lead No. 14 Florida past No. 18 Maryland 69-64 Saturday, ending the nation's longest nonconference home winning streak at 87.
"We knew they were sitting on a long streak," said Roberson, a freshman. "We also knew we could beat them."
Maryland's previous home defeat to a foe outside the Atlantic Coast Conference came Dec. 12, 1989, against Coppin State.
Roberson, a freshman who was just 6 years old when the streak started, went 8-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-7 on 3-point attempts. Matt Bonner added 16 points for Florida (7-2).
The Terrapins were hurt by their free-throw shooting; they went just 4-for-11 from the line.
Ryan Randle had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Maryland (4-3), which has lost three of four games.
