Edwin J. Franks, a fourth-generation lawyer with Franks & Franks, died from complications of a stroke Dec. 5 at Christ Hospital. The Mount Airy resident was 82.
Mr. Franks graduated from Miami University in 1942 and Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1945.
He was a 50-year member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, on the board of directors of Provident Bank, a member of Hanselmann Lodge No. 208 F&AM, past president of the Mount Airy Civic Club, a member of Mount Airy United Methodist Church and a member of Miamiview Golf Club.
He retired from Franks & Franks in 1982.
Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Rost Franks; two daughters, Carol Burns of Cedarburg, Wis., and Janice Robinson of Westwood; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services have been held. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery.
Memorials: American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
