Cinergy Field ready for demolition
About the only thing left in the stripped-down bowl that once was Cinergy Field that says baseball is a dusty ball half-buried in the broken concrete of what used to be the floor of the Cincinnati Reds dugout. Everything else is long gone - the grass, the baselines, the seats, the Jumbotron. Eight days from now, at 8 a.m., O'Rourke Wrecking Co. will set off about 1,500 pounds of explosives that will, in the space of 37 seconds, cause the 32-year-old stadium to collapse.
