Cory Pecker scored two goals to lead Cincinnati over the Rochester Americans 5-4 Friday at Rochester.

Alexei Smirnov, Travis Brigley and Ben Guite also scored for the Ducks, who moved into a tie with Rochester for second place in the Central Division.

Jean-Francois Damphousse stopped 37 shots for Cincinnati.

Elder High School's 2002 Ohio Division I state football championship team will be honored Friday when the Ducks face the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7:35 p.m. at the Cincinnati Gardens, and Panthers coach Doug Ramsey will drop the ceremonial first puck. Fans wearing purple to the game will receive a special discount at the box office, with a percentage of the proceeds from ticket sales being donated to Elder High School.

The Cincinnati Cyclones won for the seventh time in their last nine games with a 4-3 victory over the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday night at Johnstown. The Cyclones return home to face the Dayton Bombers today at U.S. Bank Arena.
