Two people, including a 6-year-old girl, died early Sunday in a one-vehicle crash in Camp Washington that also hospitalized a pregnant woman and a 3-year-old girl.
The driver, Raymond Settles, 43, of Clifton Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:53 a.m. accident at 1011 Marshall Ave., Cincinnati police said.
Cincinnati fire department rescue workers also found a 6-year-old passenger, Jahkia Washington, of Winton Hills, dead at the scene.
The other two passengers in the car were rushed to separate hospitals. Lamica Edwards, 25, of Winton Hills was listed in critical condition Sunday at University Hospital. She is six months pregnant, police said.
Donna Maye, 3, also of Winton Hills, was recovering in fair condition Sunday at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Mr. Settles was driving a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra westbound on Marshall Avenue when he did not stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Marshall and McMicken avenues, Cincinnati police said Sunday.
The car went left of center on Marshall Avenue after running through the intersection, striking a utility pole on the driver's side. The vehicle careened westbound on Marshall and came to a halt off the left side of the road.
It was not known Sunday if anyone was wearing a seat belt or if drugs or alcohol were factors. Further details were not released, and traffic investigators could not be reached for comment.
