There was strong support for "Art Class." Reader Kathy Hanas wrote: "I can visualize a very scholarly looking flying pig leading the class!"
"The Queen City: Artstown U.S.A." and "Cincinnati: A Work of Arts!" were also strong vote-getters. Some folks leaned toward Cincinnati's flying pig mascot and were "Hog Wild About the Arts!" and cheered "Pig Out on the Arts!"
"Do it. Feel it. See it. Be it. Cincinnati Arts" was a contender, but I had the feeling Cincinnati's favorite art slogan would be "Cincinnati. The Art of It All!"
"If I saw that on a bumper sticker," wrote reader Pat Stinson, "I'd be asking around town where the galleries are. If I saw it on a bumper sticker, I'd be on the lookout for visual and performing arts and astonished by the quantity and quality."
"Cincinnati. The Art of It All!" - a nice fit with Ohio's slogan of "The Heart of It All" - came in from three separate entries. Since the prize is a T-shirt (not a million bucks), we won't worry about which one arrived first.
Congratulations to (in alphabetical order) writer and performer Renee Alper, Cincinnati-based playwright Kevin Barry and actor/director Jerry Lowe.
T-shirts will arrive early in 2003. We hope the winners will model them around town. Thanks to everyone for your enthusiastic participation.
