Congrats



Barrett awarded teaching honors

Cottonwood Elementary School teacher Laurie Barrett was selected the Finneytown PTA Educator of the Year and was also named the Hamilton County Council Of PTA's Educator of the Year. She was then designated District 6 PTA Educator of the Year, the highest level of the award.

AP Scholar

Dan Lajiness, a graduate of Stephen T. Badin High School, was named an AP Scholar by completing three or more Advanced Placement exams with grades of 3 or higher.

He was also awarded Badin's 2002 Archbishop McNicholas Medal, given to the student with the highest level of academic achievement in the graduating class.

The son of Terry and Howard Lajiness of Oxford is a freshman majoring in biochemistry at the University of Toledo.

Latin exam

The National Latin Exam Scholarship Committee has awarded $1,000 scholarships to the following students who received gold medals on the 2002 Level III, IV, V or VI National Latin Exam:

Lisa Schilling, an Indian Hill High School graduate attending Yale University, New Haven, Conn.; and Jason Carreon Chua, a Summit Country Day School graduate attending Brown University, Providence, R.I.

Sheriff's academy

The following recruits graduated from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Basic Corrections Academy:
