Ohio State on Coke cans

By Karen Andrew
Cincinnati Enquirer

Ohio State fans can further celebrate their team's national championship when they pop open a commemorative can of Coca-Cola Classic beginning Monday.

The Coca-Cola Company unveiled the limited edition can after Friday's 31-24 double-overtime Fiesta Bowl victory over Miami in Tempe, Ariz.

The cans, which will be sold in retail stores throughout central and southern Ohio, will be available in 12-ounce six packs while supplies last.

"We wanted to provide a way for fans to cherish this victory for years to come," said Doug Becker, Ohio area vice president for Coca-Cola Enterprises. He said OSU's logo and the team's 2002 14-0 winning game schedule is featured on one side of the cans.

The commemorative can highlights the school's journey to its first national football title since 1968.

The Coca-Cola Company has been a longstanding partner with OSU, providing consumer package promotions, student vending promotions, product donations to student organizations and assistance with high-profile speaking engagements.
