Woman charged in summer murder
A 29-year-old Evanston woman was arrested and charged Saturday with murder in connection with the July 2002 slaying of a man inside an apartment.
Nikole Lowe, 29, of Evanston, was held Sunday on $100,120 bond at the Hamilton County Justice Center on the murder charge and on a probation violation. She is scheduled to appear in court today.
Jeffrey Brown was fatally shot at 1 a.m. July 19 in an apartment in the 2700 block of Vine Street in Corryville, police records show. His home address and age were not available Sunday. Ms. Lowe was arrested after telling investigators she had met Mr. Brown and allowed two other people into the apartment on that date, according to police records.
