Firefighters, police aid McDonald House
Cincinnati firefighters and police officers gave $3,000 - the proceeds of several fund-raisers - on Monday to Ronald McDonald House.
Leaders of both the firefighters' union, Local 48, and the Fraternal Order of Police presented the check to the Avondale home where families live while their children are being cared for at Children's Hospital.
Fire union president Joe Diebold said the union wanted to do something to give back to the community because firefighters felt so much support after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
