An administrator who has helped plan and lead Ohio museums specializing in black culture is being appointed to a presidential commission on preserving African-American culture.
President Bush said Tuesday he will appoint John E. Fleming as a member of the National Museum of African History and Culture Plan for Action Presidential Commission.
Mr. Fleming is a vice president for the Cincinnati Museum Center, which houses the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History and the Cincinnati Historical Society.
Previously, he was director and chief operating officer for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, which opens in 2004.
