Reality 2003: The lineup grows

LOS ANGELES - This is what television calls reality in 2003:

The Bachelorette (9 p.m. Wednesday, ABC): Former Miami Heat dancer Trista Rehn picks her perfect mate from 25 men, including "Mike" from Cincinnati.

Joe Millionaire (9 p.m. Monday, Fox): Twenty single women fly to France not knowing that Fox's "millionaire" actually is a construction worker and model.

American Idol (8 p.m. Tuesday, Fox): Hit summer talent search returns with audition specials leading up to live competition Feb.4-May 7.

High School Reunion (9 p.m. Sunday, WB): Graduates of Chicago's Oak Park High School hook up at a made-for-TV 10-year reunion in Hawaii. (Repeats 8 p.m. Thursday.)

My Life is a Sitcom (8 p.m. Monday, ABC Family): A camera crew visits eight finalists - including the Fontaine family in Miamisburg, Ohio - before rewarding two of them with a Hollywood screen test.

The Last Resort (8:30 p.m. Monday, ABC Family): Nine "couples in crisis" try to fix their relationship by being filmed 24/7 at a Hawaiian resort.

Meet My Folks (10 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Saturday, NBC): The summer series returns with eight women trying to win the approval of a man's parents and accompany him to Europe.

Star Search (8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, CBS): Arsenio Hall hosts the music, comedy and modeling competition broadcast live on the East Coast (preventing viewers in western time zones from voting on performers).

Pet Star (8 p.m. Jan. 31, Animal Planet): A pet star search for the hidden talents of America's feathered, furry and feline friends.

I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here! (10 p.m. Feb. 19-March 5, ABC): A 15-day live broadcast of a celebrity Survivor from an Australian rainforest with Robin Leach; "Downtown" Julie Brown; former Olympian Bruce Jenner; model Tyson Beckford; fashion critic Melissa Rivers; Howard Stern sidekick Stuttering John; and actress Alana Stewart (ex-wife of rocker Rod Stewart and George Hamilton).

All American Girl (9 p.m. March 12, ABC): A 13-week competition encompassing singing, dancing, intelligence, athletic ability, beauty and personality from American Idol producers..

Are You Hot: The Search for America's Sexiest People (9 p.m. Feb. 13, ABC): A contest from The Bachelor producer "where intelligence and achievement have absolutely no bearing," admits ABC Entertainment President Susan Lyne.

The Bachelor (9 p.m. March 26, ABC): A third installment of the hit mating series.

Married by America (March, Fox): Viewers play matchmaker in new Fox dating game.

Extreme Makeover (9 p.m. April 3, ABC): More free plastic surgery for folks in a six-week series spawned by the popular December special.

Nashville Star (March, USA): Cable's country music version of American Idol.

North Shore (summer, WB): Seven pro surfers lived together while competing in the $750,000 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing last November-December.

The Will (summer, ABC): Family members compete for an inheritance.

Cupid (summer, CBS): Simon Cowell, the mean American Idol judge, films 100 men trying to impress three young women looking for a Prince Charming.

America's Next Top Model (UPN): Model Tyra Banks is creator, producer and head judge of this eight-hour series about aspiring models living together in a Manhattan penthouse.
