GE Engine Services wins $230M contract

GE Engine Services has won a $230 million, 12-year maintenance agreement from Denver-based Frontier Airlines to maintain the airline's CFM56 engines.

The CFM56 engine powers Frontier's fleet of Airbus A18 and A319 jets.GE Engine Services in the engine repair and maintenance arm of GE Aircraft Engines. GEAE said the work would be done at its Strother Field, Kansas plant.

Federated moves up in female execs' rank

Federated Department Stores said Tuesday that it has been named one of "The Top 30 Companies for Executive Women" by the National Association for Female Executives.

Federated, parent of Lazarus, Macy's and Bloomingdale's, ranked No. 11, moving up from No. 23 in last years rankings.

Federated and Procter & Gamble, which ranked No. 13, were the only Ohio-based companies to make the list.

"We want women to know that when they join Federated, they will be getting the very best opportunity for success," said Ann Lazarus, Federated's vice president for diversity and vendor development.

The female executives association ranks companies with at least two women on their boards on the how steadily they increase the number of women in senior management and programs that groom women for upper management, among other criteria.
