100 years of Wildcat games, 1 weekend of UK memories

In honor of Kentucky's 100th season of basketball, ESPN Classic will air five UK games Sunday.

The lineup:

10 a.m.: UK 99, Louisiana State 95 (Feb. 15, 1994). UK rallied from 31 points down with 15 minutes to play.

Noon: UK 94, Duke 88 (1978 NCAA final). Jack Givens scored 41 points.

2 p.m.: UK 95, Arkansas 93, overtime (1995 Southeastern Conference Tournament final). UK trailed by 19 in the first half, 12 in the second half and nine in OT before rallying.

4 p.m.: UK 76, Syracuse 67 (1996 NCAA final). UK's first title in 18 years.

6 p.m.: UK 78, Utah 69 (1998 NCAA final). The "Comeback Cats" rally from a 10-point halftime deficit.

At 3 p.m. today, Channel 64 will air the hour-long 100 Years of Kentucky Basketball following the broadcast of UK's game at South Carolina.

RADIO CLASSICS: UK has been airing one-a-week rebroadcasts of its top 10 games of all time, at 8 p.m. Sundays on the UK Radio Network. This Sunday's will be No. 6: UK beating Indiana 92-90 in the 1975 Mideast Regional final.

The games are not being broadcast locally but can be heard on the WLAP-AM Web site (www.wlap.com) .

The top five games will be announced days before each is rebroadcast. The No. 1 game will air March 9.

The games already aired:

No. 10: Louisville 80, UK 68, overtime (1983 NCAAs). The "Dream Game."

No. 9: UK 100, LSU 95 (Feb. 15, 1990). "Pitino's Bombinos" upset a team featuring Shaquille O'Neal and Chris Jackson.

No. 8: UK 67, Kansas 66, overtime (Dec. 9, 1978). UK rallies from six points down in the final 31 seconds of OT.

No. 7: Duke 104, UK 103, overtime (1992 NCAAs). Christian Laettner stuns the "Unforgettables."

TOP PLAYERS: Fan balloting for the top five players in the program's history has concluded.

They will be announced Feb. 23 at the UK-Mississippi State game.

BOBBLEHEADS: UK has released four commemorative bobblehead dolls. They are of Kyle Macy, Adolph Rupp, Tubby Smith and Cawood Ledford.

Each sells for $18.99. As of Thursday afternoon, a few Rupp and Ledford dolls were available at Martin's Town and Country store in Newport.

All four dolls are available in Lexington at Wildcat Warehouse and the UK Basketball Museum, though the museum had only a few Macy dolls as of Thursday. They can be shipped for a fee.
