COVINGTON - The streets of Covington's Latonia neighborhood will be disrupted until May, but the neighborhood will have up-to-date gas lines to show for it.
Covington and Cinergy have announced that replacement of most of Latonia's cast-iron or steel gas mains and service lines will be replaced with plastic versions.
Work began Monday and will continue through May, in the third year of a 10-year program to replace lines installed in the 1950s that are at the end of their life cycle.
Indianapolis-based Miller Pipeline Corp. is doing the work and will contact affected property owners.
For information on placement of the lines or the work schedule, call (513) 679-2362.
For all other questions, call Cinergy at (513) 421-9500.
Some areas will see about three days of work; others may have weeks of work.
