Five questions with Jarvis Hayes
Jarvis Hayes topped the Southeastern Conference in scoring last season after transferring to Georgia from Western Carolina. Hayes, averaging 17.2 points this season, answered five questions from the Enquirer's Dustin Dow:Question: You get to play with your twin brother (Jonas Hayes) every day at Georgia. What is that like?
Answer: I'm used to it now. We've been playing together since we were 5 or 6 years old. We were a package deal when we transferred to Georgia; it was both of us or neither.
Q: Who wins at one-on-one?
A: If we play 10 games, he will win five and I will win five.
Q: Can you describe your emotions after beating Kentucky in Rupp Arena last year?
A: That was the greatest experience of my life. Going into Rupp and hitting for 30 points, it was unbelievable. Hopefully we can go in and do it again (Tuesday). They just beat No. 1 (Florida), so they think they can beat anybody now.
Q: Who were your basketball role models growing up?
A: When I started playing basketball, I would say Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. I really liked the Bulls. Pippen is still getting it done in Portland. He had a big game the other night.
Q: How about a prediction for the Kentucky game?
A: (Laughing) I don't know. ... Call me back next week.
