Miami hires defensive coordinator
The Associated Press
OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University hired Pat Narduzzi as defensive coordinator Friday, replacing the assistant coach who was arrested following a game at Marshall.
Narduzzi, 36, has been linebackers coach and an academic assistant at Northern Illinois for the past three seasons.
Former defensive coordinator Jon Wauford resigned last month. Wauford was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly knocking down a Marshall fan on the field after a game Nov. 12. Wauford pleaded innocent to the charge.
Narduzzi started his coaching career as an assistant at Miami in 1990. He also spent seven seasons at Rhode Island.
Narduzzi's father, Bill, played for Miami before coaching at Youngstown State for 11 seasons.
