OSU spring game tickets go on sale Monday

Tickets go on sale Monday for Ohio State University's annual Scarlet & Gray intrasquad spring football game, set for 1:30 p.m. April 26 in Ohio Stadium.

Fans can purchase the $5 tickets by calling 1-800-GO-BUCKS or (614) 292-2634, or online (www.hangonsloopy.com) . There is no limit per purchase, and 70,000 tickets will be up for grabs.

Ohio State defeated the Miami Hurricanes 31-24 in double overtime to win the Fiesta Bowl, clinching a first national title since the 1969 Rose Bowl and capping an undefeated 14-0 season.

The Buckeyes' spring season starts April 3 and culminates in the spring game. No Scarlet and Gray game has ever sold out - yet.

"Given the added emphasis of the championship, we're expecting more interest," assistant athletics director Steve Snapp said.

Coach Jim Tressel has 51 returning lettermen, including 18 starters. .

MIAMI FOOTBALL: The RedHawks begin spring drills March 20. The four-week session concludes with the annual Red-White game April 12 at Yager Stadium.

UC FOOTBALL: The Bearcats begin the 15-practice spring season April 2 and will play their annual Red vs. Black spring game at 2 p.m. April 26 in Nippert Stadium.

Tickets for 2003 home games are available by contacting the UC Athletic Ticket Office at (513) 556-CATS or online (www.ucbearcats.com) .
