The demolition of Beechmont Mall began this week with the razing of former anchor tenant Parisian. Crews will tear down the old mall so construction can begin on the Anderson Towne Center, a "lifestyle center'' or open-air shopping center designed as a gathering place for shoppers. In addition to Lazarus, K-Mart, Uno and TGI Friday's, the mall will feature fountains and benches. Demolition is expected to be completed by June.
