Income tax returns audited by the IRS in fiscal year 2002, compared with almost 1 in 60 returns in fiscal 1996; the government collected $32.6 billion in unpaid taxes through traditional audits and newer programs aimed at taxpayers who never file a return or underreport their income.

Her career includes 10 years as strategic marketing consultant and 10 years in advertising at Procter & Gamble as a brand manager in the packaged soap and detergent, beauty care and paper divisions.

Student-loan applicants should explore programs that can lower the monthly payments, interest rate or fees. Most servicing programs - including Sallie Mae and the government's Direct Loans program - offer several repayment options, including those that gradually increase payments as income rises. Some lenders also lower the interest rate after a number of on-time payments. Some give similar benefits for automatic payments from a bank account.

Say "Moo": During its first decade, this veterinary practice has treated dogs and cats as well as reptiles and other exotic pets. Now, new vets Brenda Specht, DVM, and Santiago Yerovi, DMV, are available for farm calls for horses, cows, llamas, goats, pigs and sheep. Ann Manharth, DVM, treats all species of birds and other types of exotic animals.

On-Site Expertise: Staffed by 51 professional and support personnel, All Creatures offers extended hours and uses recent technology to diagnose and treat its patients. Ultrasound, X-ray and blood-panel diagnostics are available on the premises. Hospital veterinarians also perform laser surgery.

One-Stop Shop: The Mount Holly hospital includes Noah's Treasures, a gift and supply shop; a full-service grooming facility and a boarding kennel. This spring, All Creatures will break ground on a hospital expansion that will add exam rooms, enlarge grooming and boarding space and provide a canine training and day care center.
