Promotions and new on the job

Lisa Kunz has joined Hamilton County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities as director of Elmer P. Beckman Adult Center in Colerain Township. Kunz was with The Work Resource Center in Cincinnati. She has also held professional positions as a vocational services manager, case manager and job trainer. She has a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Courtney Roberts has joined the medical staff with a specialty in family medicine at Crossroad Health Center.

Marcus Ballas has been named director, clinical pharmacology unit at Kendle International; Michael F. Bayer as vice president, project management; Peter U. Bracs joined the company as director, clinical research; Angela J. Burnikell named project management, Europe; Michael Celeste, vice president, European regulatory consulting and submissions and vice president, European compliance and validation; Dagmar Chase, vice president and managing director, Europe; Keith A. Cheesman, director, administration; Ric M. DeGaris joined as director, new business development; Cecilio G. Delgra Jr. named medical officer; and Douglas C. Kamm, vice president, human resources.

Thomas J. Groskopf has been named director at Barnes Dennig & Co. Ltd. Groskopf provides business counsel and tax advice to clients in a variety of industries with a concentration in manufacturing, construction and services. He has more than nine years experience in public accounting with Barnes Dennig. He holds a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Xavier University.

Karen Simpson has joined Best Offer LLC/Inglis Properties as business coordinator.

Catherine Armstrong has been named marketing black belt in the marketing and development department of Contech Construction Products Inc.

Rosemary Kennedy Cicak has been named executive director of marketing and public relations at Otterbein Retirement Living Communities.

George B. Pearson Jr. has been appointed senior vice president, producing general agent (PGA) marketing at Ohio National Financial Services. Pearson has provided nearly 40 years of service to Ohio National beginning as a career agent in 1963, transferring to the home office in Cincinnati as a training assistant in 1967. In 1971 he was named national regional agency director and in 1982 he became vice president, sales. He has held the title of vice president, PGA marketing since 1987. He attended Omaha University.

• The following have joined WonderGroup, a youth marketing agency: Joan Roberts, senior account executive; Andy Scheurer, senior brand consultant; Lisa Alexander, senior art director; Paula Coletta, manager of research; Kathy Jenkins, senior production designer; and Melissa Booth, marketing coordinator.

Bob Bisbe has joined Sibcy Cline Realtors as real estate sales associate, Blue Ash office; Sharon Silcox joined the Tri-County office as residential real estate specialist and Jonathan L. Murphy joined the Montgomery office as residential real estate specialist.

Joe Polak has been named sales excellence project manager at Cognis, a global specialty chemical company. Polak will oversee and implement new practices for Cognis' North American sales team. He is a 17-year veteran of the sales staff. He has worked in field sales, sales management and business management for a wide variety of Cognis business, including coatings and inks, care chemicals and oleochemicals. He has a bachelor's degree in science from Loyola University, Chicago.

Michael Stoner has joined the Cincinnati law firm of Strauss & Troy as an associate.

J. Michael Debbeler and Daniel C. Heyd have joined the executive committee at Graydon Head & Ritchey LLP.

Michelle Padilla has joined Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal as manager, marketing communications and Perriann Allen has been named marketing assistant, marketing communications.

Dr. K. John Morrow Jr. has joined the expanding scientific team at Meridian Bioscience Inc.

Jurrien Kampinga has been named national development manager in the real estate and development division of Paul Hemmer Companies. Kampinga will be responsible for managing national accounts and development projects. He joined the company in 1999 and served as a sales representative for construction services and real estate development. He is a graduate of Regis University, Denver, and is a licensed Realtor in Ohio.

Awards

• Matthew Adam, regional manager of Nationwide Advertising Service, has been named Manager of the Year, 2002. Leading the Cincinnati office to win Office of the Year, 2002, Adam joined the Cincinnati office as regional manager in 1997.

• The Northern Kentucky Human Resource Association has received the 2002 Merit Award from the Society for Human Resource Management.

• Paul Zimmerman, senior market researcher at Procter & Gamble and vice president for Coalition programs, a volunteer position, has received the 2002 Volunteer of the Year Award from the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America.

• Morgan Rhodes, assistant manager at U.S. Bank's Springdale office, and Misty Cerna and David Kinney, personal bankers for U.S. Bank's 24 hour banking and financial sales division, have been named to the U.S. Bancorp Circle of Service Excellence, a quarterly award given to employees who provide exceptional service and attention to customers and fellow employees.

Milestones

Stephen E. Chappelear, president of the Ohio State Bar Association will address the annual luncheon at the Cincinnati Bar Association on April 7 to honor the following local lawyers for 50 years in practice: Robert E. Fryman, Oxford; Marvin Gevelber, Loveland; Ralph A. Henderson, Fairfield; Judge John R. Moser, Hamilton, and Cincinnati residents, John P. Harrington; Edward Hogan; Robert C. Martin; Eugene K. Purdy; Paul W. Schuch; Jerome S. Teller and Judge Eugene J. Utz. Harry M. Hoffheimer and William A. McClain, both of Cincinnati, are being honored for 65 years of service.
