Congrats



On dean's list

The following have been named to the fall dean's list at their college or university:

Lindsay Shestina, a junior majoring in print journalism and minoring in visual communications technology at Bowling Green State University, Ohio. The Turpin High School graduate is the daughter of Janey and Stu Shestina of Anderson Township.

Anthony Glickhouse, a freshman attending Miami University. He is the son of Linda and Steven Rose of Liberty Township.

Shelley Gundrum, a marketing and art student at Northern Kentucky University. She is the daughter of Chris and Mike Gundrum of Monfort Heights.

Jeremy Scheel, a senior majoring in physics, with minors in math and Spanish, at the University of Cincinnati. The Turpin High School graduate is the son of Diane and Leo Scheel of Anderson Township.

Brigette Horan, a senior English major at Ohio State University. The Fairfield High School graduate is the daughter of Anne Rita and Jay Horan of Fairfield.

Erin Barhorst, a junior fashion design major at the University of Cincinnati. She is the daughter of Betty and Dan Barhorst of Cheviot.

Jacki Green, a freshman attending Lee University, Cleveland, Tenn. The Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy graduate is the daughter of Judith and David Green of Mason.

Scholarship finalist

McAuley High School senior Melissa Smith was selected as a finalist from a field of more than 2,000 semifinalists by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation to compete for a scholarship valued up to $20,000.

There were more than 100,000 applicants for these scholarships.

$2,000 student grant

Princeton High School senior Joe Johnson received a $2,000 Student Grant Award from General Electric Aircraft Engines. In addition, he was able to choose a teacher to receive $500 to support the education of future engineers.

The son of Marti and Steve Johnson of Sharonville plans to attend either Clemson University or Virginia Tech.
