Web sites for the whole family

Flying Pig Marathon

The annual May 4 run is actually preceded by several pig-hopping activities. Marathon eaters will pig out at the pasta party on May 3. There will be three seatings: 4:30, 6 and 7:30 p.m. The menu consists of salad, pasta, bread, dessert and beverages. Adults pay $15; children ages 3-12 pay $8. Tickets will not be available at the event, so squeal over to the Web site for registration information.

Sporting Kid

This e-zine "for families with active lifestyles" gives a bimonthly roundup of news stories from around the country on the issue of youth sports. Topics covered include stretching exercises, parental violence at sporting events and the dangers posed to teens by ephedra, an herb found in weight-loss and bodybuilding supplements. A variety of sports are covered, from badminton to wrestling.

Let's Fly a Kite

Although March, the traditional month for kite flying, is past, there's still plenty of good wind to blow a kite around through the rest of spring. This site not only tells you where kites came from, the aerodynamic flight of kites, the different types of kites and the best way to fly one, it's also an online store for kites grouped according to skill level. Prices range from $10 to $55.
