Marine Pfc. Joshua R. Hisle, 21, is a 2000 graduate of Mount Healthy High School. He enlisted in November 2001 after the Sept. 11 attacks. He is the son of Steve and Dorma Melchers of Fairfield and Greg and Susan Hisle of Mount Healthy.
His aunt, Lorna Miles, writes, "I wanted to pass on to you that my nephew, Joshua R. Hisle, is in Iraq fighting in the war. Although we do not know his exact location, we are aware that he is with the 2nd Tank BN and was supposed to be on the front lines. I have wanted so badly for local people to know he is there. ...
"We are extremely proud of him and at the same time are praying daily for the absolute safety of all the troops.
"We have no idea how fortunate we are to live in this country and to have the individuals who volunteer like this to fight when needed.''
