American Legion contribution
Tristate reacts to war
The American Legion offers tips on supporting the military on its Web site.
Visitors to www.legion.org can click the "Support Our Troops" link to find ways to reach out to U.S. service members and their families as well as opportunities to volunteer, give blood and contribute to scholarships.
Through its Family Support Network, local Legion posts adopt military families, helping pay bills and providing child care and other services.
