SSgt. Scott Hafner, 33; Spc. Samantha McKeehan, 25; and Spc. Amanda Raby, 25; are the children of Larry and Dolly McKeehan of Waynesville, Ohio. All are graduates of Waynesville High School.
Their parents write:
We are the proud parents of three children in the U.S. Army. Our son, SSgt. Scott Hafner, is currently at Fort Bragg awaiting orders for deployment. He and his wife, Katie (Ivie), have two daughters, ages 3 years and 4 months. He is a career man and recently completed two years as a drill sergeant at Fort Jackson, S.C., and airborne school at Fort Benning, Ga.
Our daughter, Spc. Samantha McKeehan, is stationed at Fort Carson, Colo. Due to the nature of her job, she will not be deployed but is handling the orders for all soldiers deploying from her post. Samantha has been in the Army for seven years.
Her twin sister, Spc. Amanda Raby, was discharged from the Army Oct. 1, 2002, at Fort Campbell, Ky., after serving for six years and is a reservist. She was an operating-room technician. She has a 2-year-old daughter and is living in Ohio.
As parents of our three military children, we flip from deep pride and respect for our adult children and what they willingly do for their country, and deep sadness that they might be put in harm's way.
But as with so many of our soldiers, they know their jobs well, are deeply patriotic and proud of their country, and are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. We are so incredibly proud of our children and the discipline, determination, responsibility and respect they have incorporated into their daily lives. What more could a parent ask for?
Thank you for supporting our troops.
