Swoopes to speak at women's banquet



WNBA standout Sheryl Swoopes will be the guest speaker at tonight's 10th annual Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Women's Sports Association Sports and Fitness awards dinner.

The banquet, which recognizes athletes and coaches in women's sports, will be held at 7 p.m. at the Drawbridge Inn in Fort Mitchell.

The High School and College Sportswomen of the Year will be named at the awards presentation, which begins at 8 p.m.

Several award winners have been announced, including: Karol Brown Warden (Lifetime Service Award), Beth Roederer (Wilma Rudolph Courage Award), LaTosha Johnson (Tina R. Siegel Award), Susan Cross Lipnickey (Donna DeVarona Spirit of Sport), Val Lyons (Master Sportswoman of theYear), Bishop Brossart's Dave Schuh (High School Coach of the Year) and Cincinnati's Laurie Pirtle (College Coach of the Year).
