LEXINGTON, Ky. - Three top executives at WTVQ-TV were dismissed for undisclosed reasons.
The terminations of general manager Bill Stanley, news director David Foky and executive producer Audrey Port on Thursday were effective immediately, said Jim Conschafter, vice president of broadcast stations of Media General, which owns WTVQ.
An interim general manager will be announced Monday at the ABC affiliate, Conschafter said.
He said the new general manager will also probably handle Foky's news function. It will be the new manager's choice whether to hire an executive producer to replace Port, Conschafter said.
Stanley had worked for WTVQ for three years, Foky for 21/2 years and Port since last August.
The three either could not be reached or declined to comment, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported. WTVQ's parent, Media General, is a publicly owned communications company based in Richmond, Va., that runs more than 20 newspapers, 26 television stations and other media services primarily throughout the Southeast.
