Fitness Calendar



Classes

• Extreme Boot Camp, eight-week sessions, next Monday-June 25, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesday-June 26, 6-7 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion, 6200 Pfeiffer Road, Blue Ash. Cost: $40 members; $80 non-members. This is a high intensity athletic conditioning class where participants are driven to reach their goals through camaraderie, encouragement and motivation of other participants.

• Friday Night Fever, four-week session 7-8 p.m. Fridays, this week through May 23, at TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion, 6200 Pfeiffer Road, Blue Ash. Cost: $30 members; $40 non-members.

Learn the steps and spins of salsa, swing, and the fox trot.

• Pilates Mat Classes, 7-8 p.m. Mondays, next Monday-June 16, at Wyoming Recreation Center, 9940 Springfield Pike. Cost: $36 residents; $42 non-residents.

Pilates is a series of stretching exercises designed to strengthen and tone muscles. For all fitness levels and age groups.

Training

• Hyde Park Blast training program kickoff 6:30 p.m. May 8 at Bob Roncker's Running Spot, 1993 Madison Road, O'Bryonville. Cost: $80 per person for first 50 applicants.

Train for the annual July 4 Hyde Park Blast, a four-mile run/walk in the hills of Hyde Park. Training package includes personalized training and coaching by Roncker and his team of coaches, entry to the Hyde Park Blast, motivation and fitness evaluations, shirt, reduced fee to Running Club of Greater Cincinnati and more.

• Jeff Galloway Marathon Training Program of Cincinnati spring training kickoff 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Fleet Feet Sports Cincinnati at the Crossings of Blue Ash, 9525 Kenwood Road. Jeff Galloway book signing 6:30 p.m.; free clinic 7 p.m.

Meet former Olympian and author Jeff Galloway as he begins his Cincinnati spring training program for fall marathons.

Runs

Lebanon Elks Lodge 422 5K Derby Dash 9 a.m. Saturday, starting at the Elks Lodge, 29 E. Mulberry St., Lebanon. Registration: $15 race day, includes T-shirt.

Proceeds from the 5K (3.1 mile)-race will benefit cerebral palsy research.

Wheelchair Games

Cincinnati Wheelchair Games, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at Sycamore High School, 7400 Cornell Road, Blue Ash. Entry fee: $15.

Sponsored by the University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters College Disability Services, the event's entry fee includes lunch and T-shirt. Spectators admitted free.
