Kentucky obituaries



The Kentucky Enquirer publishes obituaries of residents in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties as a free service. Boone County

Nancy J. Stephens

FLORENCE - Nancy Jane Stephens, 65, an office manager for Hertz and member of East Bend Baptist Church in Union, died Sunday at her home.

Surviving are her mother, Lucille Stephens of Union; and two brothers, George Stephens of Union, and Benny Stephens of Crittenden.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. and service 7 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Graveside committal service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Burlington Cemetery

George C. Spencer Jr.

PETERSBURG - George C. Spencer Jr., 62, a retired recreation supervisor for the city of Cincinnati who helped start the World Wide Basketball League in Cincinnati, died Sunday at his home.

He was preceded in death by a son, Samuel.

Surviving are his wife, Sharynn Page Spencer; two sons, George III of Hamilton and Rhett of Mount Lookout; two daughters, Suzanne Beniadrene and Leslie Spencer, both of Forest Park; a stepdaughter, Jody Mangeot of Villa Hills; a sister, Debra Spencer of Dayton, Ky.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. today and service 10 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Winton Place.

Memorials: Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Wall, 213 W. Ninth St., Cincinnati 45202.

Campbell County

Frank A. Laible

COLD SPRING - Frank Albert Laible, 87, a retired jets part coordinator for General Electric in Evendale, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas. He was a member of St. Mary's Senior Citizens group, and a former member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Bernard Church in Dayton, Ky.

He was preceded in death by a son Frank W. in 2001.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Osterhage Laible; two daughters, Carol M. Laible of Cold Spring and Ruth Fries of Butler, Ky.; a sister, Sr. Dorothy Laible, CDP, of Melbourne, Ky.; a brother, George of Fort Wright; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 10-11:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas is handling arrangements.

Kenton County

William E. Krebs

ERLANGER - William E. Krebs, 79, owner and operator of Bill Krebs Barber Shop in Ludlow for more than 30 years, died April 23 at the Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of St. Henry Church in Elsmere.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred "Millie" Krebs.

Surviving are five daughters, Linda Krebs-Dalton of Taylor Mill, Susan Friedman of Burlington, Diane Linnemann of Edgewood, Bonnie Krebs-Cuzzone of Cincinnati and Jude Ann Capek of Elizabethton, Tenn.; two sons, William Jr. of Erlanger and Thaddeus of Florence; a sister, Dolores Carter of Lawrenceville, N.J.; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Henry Church, 3813 Dixie Highway, Elsmere. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Erlanger.

Colen Sloan

ERLANGER - Colen Sloan, 79, an employee in the window shade division of Clopay Inc. for 18 years, and an employee for Owens-Illinois Inc. for 20 years, died Sunday at Florence Park Care Center.

He was a member of St. Henry Church in Elsmere, a World War II Army veteran and member of Ralph Fulton VFW Post 6423 in Elsmere.

Surviving are his wife, Rosemary; two sons, William of Albany, Ky., and Michael of Walton; a daughter, Kathleen Collins of Taylor Mill; a sister, Ethel Long of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. today at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. today at St. Henry Church, 3813 Dixie Highway, Elsmere. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Thomas J. Napoli

COVINGTON - Thomas John Napoli, 77, a mechanic for American Airlines in New York City for 26 years and a Marine veteran, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Covington.

Surviving are a son, Lee of Covington; and two grandchildren.

No visitation. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today in Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Ky. Linnemann Funeral Homes is handling arrangements.
