Arboretum Amble, 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Boone County Arboretum, Central Park, 9190 Camp Ernst Road, Union. Preregistration before Wednesday $10; $15 Thursday through race day.
Join a 2 1/2-mile run/walk on paved trails through beautiful arboretum grounds.
Awards and door prizes. Sponsored by Friends of Boone County Arboretum and Boone County Cooperative Extension Service. Proceeds support projects such as the Children's Garden this summer.

Second Annual Rat Race 5K Run/Walk, 6:45 p.m. May 16 at Nisbet Park, Loveland. Preregistration $20, or register race day.
Join the Rat Race and then party at Nisbet Park with live music, beer and food. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Southern Ohio.

Golf
Dearborn County Hospital (DCH) Home Health & Hospice Golf Tournament, 10 a.m. shotgun start next Monday at Hidden Valley Lake Golf Club, off State Line Road east of Lawrenceburg. Cost: $85 per person ($15 tax deductible). Play for a trophy or a door prize. Event registration includes greens fees, cart, continental breakfast, sandwiches, dinner and gifts. Children's Home of Northern Kentucky 9th annual Golf Outing May 13 at Devou Park Golf Course, 1344 Audubon Road, Covington Registration 10:30 a.m., shotgun start 11 a.m. Entry fee: $100. Play 18 holes for a good cause, grill-out on the home's front porch, and enjoy catered dinner at Devou Park Memorial Building. Armed Forces Day Golf Outing May 17 at Hillview Golf Course, 6954 Wesselman Road, Cleves. Registration at noon, tee off 1:30 p.m. Cost: $60 donation; sponsors available at other levels.
The shotgun/scramble, including steak dinner and door prizes, will benefit the Joseph House for Homeless Veterans.

Registrations
Fall Soccer and Basketball Sign-ups 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Wyoming Recreation Center, 9940 Springfield Pike. Fees: $65, soccer for ages over 5; $45, dribblers; basketball fee to be determined. Saturday is final day to sign up for soccer. Basketball registration for grades K-12 will continue until Sept. 23.
