Delta Air Lines has launched its second leisure fare sale of the spring, with most destinations in Florida discounted as the airline tries to attract passengers after an 11.2 percent drop in traffic in April compared with the same month last year.
The sale includes flights from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Delta's second-largest hub and the nation's third most expensive airport to fly from, according to the Transportation Department.
A round-trip ticket from Cincinnati to Fort Lauderdale, for example, is on sale for $178, as is a round-trip ticket from here to Tampa, although prices do not include local fees or security fees.
Tickets must be bought by May 15, and the low fares require a 14-day advance purchase and a Saturday night stay for most trips, and there are some blackout dates. Travel must be completed by Oct. 15, and there might be a limited number of seats on any given flight.
It is Delta's second attempt to spur travel this spring, as the war with Iraq pushed demand for air travel down even further.
