UK's Smith questionable for Caravan
By Neil Schmidt
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Kentucky basketball coach Tubby Smith may miss today's Big Blue Caravan stop in Cincinnati because of a death in his family.
Smith missed the opening caravan date Monday in Louisville to be with family members in the Washington, D.C., area and is questionable for today's event at the Golf Center at Kings Island, UK officials said.
UK football coach Rich Brooks, women's basketball coach Mickie DeMoss and athletic director Mitch Barnhart are the other headliners for the luncheon, golf outing and banquet, which will also include 20 or more other UK coaches and personnel.
The coaches and support staff will begin the day with a visit to residents of Rosedale Manor, a retirement home in Latonia.
The reservation deadline for the event has passed.
