Yoplait is the latest company to introduce its version of a yogurt smoothie. But unlike Dannon Frusion, Tropicana Smoothies and others, Yoplait claims its drinkable Nouriche provides the "nourishment of a meal," with 20 vitamins and minerals, 10 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber per serving. Available in four fruit flavors, Nouriche is aimed at busy "grab-and-go" women consumers. Sold in most grocery dairy cases for about $1.59 per 11 ounces.

Mesclun (MEHS-kluhn) is not a variety of lettuce but a mix of young, small salad greens, sometimes also called "field greens" or "spring salad mix." Mesclun, which is common in parts of southern France and Northern Italy, contains varieties such as arugula, dandelion, frisee and radicchio. Look for crisp leaves with no signs of wilting. Store in a plastic bag in the refrigerator and use as soon as possible. Wash just before using, spin dry and toss with vinaigrettes.

Jean Vesselle Brut Champagne Reserve ($27.99): This non-vintage French blend of 80 percent pinot noir and 20 percent chardonnay offers a lovely champagne experience without breaking the bank. A medium style with biscuit, and citrus - especially grapefruit - flavors, this wine originates from the appellation of Bouzy, known for pinot noir but gaining reputation for its champagne.
