Kentucky obituaries



The Kentucky Enquirer publishes obituaries of residents in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties as a free service. Boone County

Adrian Wayne Lee

BURLINGTON - Adrian Wayne Lee, 80, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South. He was a retired employee for Commonwealth of Kentucky Heating and Air Conditioning, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the VFW Post 6423 and American Legion Post 4.

Survivors include three sons, Adrian II of Aurora, Colo., Michael of Riverview, Fla., and Terry of El Paso, Texas; three daughters, Debra Scheider of Mandeville, La, Kathy Estenfelder of Florence and Shawna Sheehy of Batavia, Ohio; a brother, Ike, of Lebanon, Ky.; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, 3525 Dixie Highway, Elsmere-Erlanger. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturdayat the funeral home. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Campbell County

Susan Pollard Browning

FORT THOMAS - Susan Pollard Browning, 53, of New York City and formerly of Fort Thomas, died May 2 at Georgia Medical Center.

She was a graduate of Duke University and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. A former employee of Delta Queen Steamboat Co. in Cincinnati, she last worked as a research assistant for Arthur Young in New York City, was a member of Grace Episcopal Church there and Bible Study Fellowship International, Ocean Grove Retreat in New Jersey.

Survivors include her husband, Jackson B. Browning Jr.; her mother, Frances Haigh Pollard of Fort Thomas; a sister, Anne Perry of Fort Thomas; and a brother, Stephen Pollard of Houston.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Fort Thomas.

Alma Mary Reuscher Dolan

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS - Alma Mary Reuscher Dolan, 92, formerly of Florence, died Wednesday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation Center, Highland Heights. She was a retired admitting clerk at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington.

Her husband, Edward, died in 1984.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Ruth Reuscher of Fort Mitchell and Eleanor Dolan of Ludlow; and nieces, Linda Moellman of Ludlow, Peggy Terrell of Erlanger, Barbara Taylor of Denver, and Sharon Rudy of Dry Ridge.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mondayat Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, 3614 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, 1150 Donaldson Road, Erlanger. She will be entombed in St. Mary Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell.

John Haas

FORT THOMAS - John Bernard Haas, 75, retired vice-president and general manager of Steinhauser Inc. in Newport, and a World War II Army veteran, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas.

Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Warndorf Marie Haas; four sons, Thomas of Cold Spring, James of Cincinnati, Robert of California, Ky., and David of Wilder; a daughter, Teri Fahrendorf of Cincinnati; a sister, Ruth Feder of Los Angeles; and 16 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. todayat Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1803 N. Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Theodore V. Newton

COLD SPRING - Theodore V. "Ted" Newton, 82, died Wednesday at his home. The retired truck driver for American Linen was a World War II Navy veteran and had been awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Cold Spring and the Cold Spring Fire Department.

His wife, Loretta, died in 1981.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Brossart of Mount Airy, Md., and Bev Guthier of Cold Spring; a brother, Robert of Florence; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexandria Funeral Home, 325 Washington, Alexandria, followed by the funeral at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 4011 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring. He will be buried in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Zona Simpson

SOUTHGATE - Zona Simpson, 75, a former resident of Covington, died Tuesday in her home. She had been the president of Jones and Simpson Funeral Home and a member and trustee of the First Baptist Church, Covington.

Her husband, James Jr., died in 1999.

She is survived by three sons, James III of Mason, Ohio, Ronald L. and Arnold R. both of Covington; a daughter Adrienne A. of Covington; two brothers, George Pennington of Somerset and Paul Pennington of Midland, Pa; two sisters, Carolyn Arrington of Fort Washington, Md., and Sarah Coffey of Lexington; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, 120 E. Ninth Street, Covington. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

GRANT COUNTY

Agnes Souder

DRY RIDGE - Agnes Souder, 76, of Covington and formerly of Williamstown, died Wednesday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation Center, Hospice Unit, Highland Heights. She had been a sewer of baseballs for McGregor in Williamstown and was a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church.

Her husband, Herbert, died in 1965.

She is survived by a daughter, Norma Mattingly of Covington; a brother, Tim Cornelius of Laurel, Del; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, 30 South Main Street, Dry Ridge. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.

Dorothy M. Morgan

ELSMERE - Dorothy M. Morgan, 81, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. She was a retired chef for Villa Madonna Academy, Villa Hills, a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Bromley and the Ladies Guild of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.

Survivors include six daughters, Lyn Lockhorn of Paoli, Pa., Eva Wartman of Edgewood, Yvonne Wagner of Fort Wright, Yvette Carter of Independence, Linda Hucker of Erlanger and Sandy Petty of Latonia; a sister, Carolyn Bohl of Cincinnati; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. today at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm St., Ludlow. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.

Hattie Rogers Lawson

PARK HILLS - Hattie Rogers Lawson, 87, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.She was a homemaker and a member of Madison Avenue Christian Church of Covington and a former member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the William Booth Memorial Hospital, Covington.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Reynolds of Warrensburg, Mo., Margaret Meyers of Park Hills and Bonnie Jensen of Fort Thomas; a son, Eddie Jr. of Springboro, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m.today at the Madison Avenue Christian Church, 1530 Madison Avenue, Covington. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
