I dare you: Hostesses of upcoming bachelorette parties, take note. The new party card game, Bachelorette Dares (Meadowbrook Press; $4.99) is a wild way to say goodbye to the single life by daring each other to do outlandish things. The "dares" include things to do at a bar such as "ask a guy to use his best pick-up line on the bride-to-be," "get five guys' phone numbers, in case the groom gets 'cold feet' " or "lip-synch the song 'You're So Vain' and dedicate it to 'the cutest guy at the bar." Look it up: The Mount Healthy Committee of the Friends of the Public Library is sponsoring a used book sale this weekend at the Mount Healthy City Park Pool Building. A preview sale for teachers, home schoolers and youth group leaders will be from 3-6 p.m. today, with the sale opening to the public 6-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free, 522-7544.
Go fish and stuff: The Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America presents the Outdoor Action Expo 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at Coney Island. Activities include a climbing wall, rappelling, canoeing, archery, shooting ranges, scuba diving, tomahawk throw, games and Coney Island rides. Gizmo, 15, and Be-Ju, 8 months, are Maltese belonging to Joni and Gary Mataitis of College Hill. Gizmo enjoys eating more than anything else and Be-Ju enjoys having Gizmo as his own personal chew toy.
