As the weather warms, I head to the freezer for a fast, cooling dessert.
When I'm not indulging in ice cream, it's sorbet - and almost always Edy's Whole Fruit Sorbet.
I've been an Edy's fan since I discovered its lush, tropical mango flavor two years ago. Now Edy's has introduced three more sorbet flavors: blueberry, apple-cinnamon and pink grapefruit.
The blueberry sorbet tastes a lot like raspberry to me, and the apple-cinnamon isn't as bad as it sounds - kind of like icy apple pie filling.
But the pink grapefruit is the best of the new flavors, although you have to really like pink grapefruit to enjoy it.
The sorbet is sweet enough, but with that distinctive bitter, throat-clearing edge that some of us crave.
And since the grapefruit season peaks in midwinter, I hope eating a scoop or two of this pink sorbet this summer will take me back to chilly memories of January, and cool me off.
Edy's sorbet is available at most groceries for about $3.39 per pint.
