UNION TOWNSHIP - Investigators are looking for people who might have had items stolen from storage units in western Hamilton County and in the Anderson Township/Beechmont areas.
Recovered property might be among items the department confiscated from a rash of break-ins that occurred before Feb. 22.
Samuel L. Henderson and Richard E. Morrow, both 27, were indicted in March on 19 counts each of felony breaking and entering. The two men are scheduled for separate court appearances in June and July.
Union Township Police Detective Jeff Brown said the two Bethel men are accused in a scheme that involved renting storage units and using the guise that they were checking a unit. Officials said the two men would break into other units and take the stolen items to a second storage unit at another facility.
They then would repeat the practice at the second storage facility, officials said.
In all, police recovered about $20,000 in property, and about $3,000 worth remains to be claimed.
Those who wish to check if their property is among the recovered items can call Brown at 753-2218. You must be able to identify your item or have a police report to prove it has been stolen. Items that have not been claimed eventually will be donated to charity or destroyed.
