LEBANON - Lee Holcomb, 37, of Mason, who was critically injured when he caused a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 71, has 10 drunken driving convictions since 1984, state patrol officials said Monday.
Lt. Mike Sanders, commander of the patrol's Lebanon post, said Holcomb has third-degree burns over half of his body. He is at University Hospital.
Sanders said Holcomb was under the influence of alcohol when he drove his sedan into the rear of a pickup in the northbound lanes at 11:20 p.m. Saturday. Both vehicles hit trees, fences and guardrails.
The pickup driver was Frederick Wade, 58, of Centerburg. His wife, Kathryn, 56, was seriously injured and taken to University Hospital.
