Just In

Look for fresh dandelion greens, purple and green French endive, rapini and other hard-to-find produce at the new Paula at Bracke's at Mount Lookout Square. Paula Kirk, owner of Paula's Deli, downtown, took over the legendary Bracke Meats & Produce in late May. In addition to fresh produce, she's offering meats, fresh fish, imported and domestic cheeses, wine and beer and Paula's famous chicken salad, tossed with grapes and cashews. 1010 Delta Ave., Mount Lookout. 871-1515. Open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday.

Margaritas come in more flavors than lime, we all know. Old El Paso Chile Co., which makes perhaps the best bottled mix on the market, has introduced a rosy strawberry margarita blend, made with strawberry puree, Meyer lemon juice and Mexican key lime juice. All you add is tequila and ice. $9 per quart. Available at Williams-Sonoma stores.

Market Scan

The first locally grown bing cherries have arrived at market. Eat the sweet cherries as a snack, serve uncooked in desserts and salads and cook into pies and cobblers. Look for brightly colored, shiny fruit that's firm but not hard. Store unwashed cherries in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.
