Barkin' breath: A few weeks ago, our Sitings column featured a contest to find the dog with the worst-smelling breath. After sniffing through thousands of entries, the makers of Yip Yap doggie breath mints blew two area dogs into the finals. Chase, a vizsla from Loveland, and Tiffy, a long-haired Chihuahua from Kettering, are among six halitosis hounds competing for a year's supply of Yip Yap dog breath fresheners and a chance to be the company's cover dog for its product. To support our finalists, log on to Web site and vote for your favorite. Online polls close June 23.
To do
Cheap thrills: Here are a few suggestions on how to have fun and learn a little something besides. Business 2.0 magazine has listed some fun factory tours to enjoy in cities near and far. For example, here's a cool idea for a date: a tour of the Airborne Express location in Wilmington. More than 1 million packages are shuttled through every night and it's fun to pick one particular package and then watch it travel through an elaborate network of conveyor belts and sorting machines. The date hook? The 2 1/2-hour tour starts weeknights at 11:30 p.m. Reservations are accepted two to three weeks in advance. Free. (937) 382-5591, Ext. 2536.
Other vacation spots with fun tours include kitchen and bath company Kohler in Wisconsin; Boeing Airplanes in Seattle, the behind-the-scenes tour at Disney World and a Scharffen Berger chocolate tour in Berkeley, Calif.
Walking the line: The Cincinnati Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section sponsors its annual 5K Run for Kids walk/run at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary Church in Hyde Park. The Young Lawyers Section is open to all lawyers ages 36 and younger. Proceeds from the event go to Cincinnati's ProKids organization. Enjoy the Run for Kids after-party with food, drinks and live music. $25. 651-5118.
Cornhole, anyone?: The Cincinnati Sports Leagues are now accepting team and individual registration for summer leagues. Teams include sand volleyball, coed softball, coed football, coed kickball, coed golf and cornhole. Season starts the week of July 7. To help boost registration, there's a CSL Happy Hour 6-9 p.m. June 20 at the Pavilion in Mount Adams. Register at Web site or call 533-9386.
