MADEIRA - Two familiar faces will fill the top administrative jobs in the Madeira City School District, effective Aug. 1.
Steve Kramer, assistant superintendent at Madeira, is being promoted to superintendent. Paul Imhoff, principal of Wyoming Middle School, succeeds Kramer as assistant superintendent.
The Madeira Board of Education gave Kramer a two-year contract with an annual salary of $98,900. The board selected the 49-year-old Kramer from a field of 32 candidates.
"He brings a number of strengths to this position, such as experience with curriculum and instruction, special-education programs, facilities and business management and the gifted program," board president John Gilster said.
"We believe that Mr. Kramer possesses a strong understanding of our community, but more importantly, the value it places on having a high-quality school district."
Kramer replaces Michele Hummel, who is leaving the post after eight years. Kramer has been an educator for 27 years, 21 of them in Madeira.
The board this fall will host a number of events to introduce Kramer in his new role.
Imhoff was assistant principal for Madeira Junior-Senior High School from 1998 until 2000. For the past three years he has been principal of Wyoming Middle School. Before coming to Madeira in 1998, he was principal at Mapleton High School in Ashland County, Ohio.
The board awarded Imhoff a two-year contract with an annual salary of $86,000.
The 1,400-student district is consistently rated "Excellent" on the Local Report Card, which the Ohio Department of Education issues to measure a school district's effectiveness.
