MASON - Monday's qualifying round of the Greater Cincinnati Women's Amateur Golf Invitational at Four Bridges was rescheduled for today because of inclement weather and flooded greens and fairways.
The lead pack of golfers played through rain for eight holes, but lightning delayed the qualifying round for an hour and a half before it was postponed.
"I got caught in a torrential downpour today," said Erin McAfee, who made it through three holes. "We were on the (second) green but there were puddles all around the hole, so we had to stop and wait for the green to dry out.
"I was a little disappointed. I wanted to get out there and play, but it's a relief in a way with the conditions. I got off to a slow start."
All players will start over today at the same tee times.
Today's round will decide who will make the rest of the week's 16-player championship flight. Organizers will try to fit two rounds of match play into Thursday's schedule.
