Columbus to host U.S., other games

Women's World Cup

By The Associated Press

COLUMBUS - Six Women's World Cup games, including a United States opening-round contest, will be played at Columbus Crew Stadium.

The stadium will be the site of three doubleheaders on Sept. 20, 24 and 28. The defending champion Americans will play on Sept. 28. Crew Stadium is one of two stadiums that will host the first day of soccer.

Only the U.S. women's opening round schedule is set because the tournament field has not been completed and the draw has not been held.

Ticket information and times will be released after the draw is finalized.
