HAMILTON - The historic Key Building celebrates its centennial this month in the Butler County seat.
Construction began in 1903 and was completed in 1906.
The building was named the Rentschler Building in honor of its builder, George Adam Rentschler, a German immigrant and pioneering Hamilton industry leader.
Owner Al Koncius will add a bronze plaque to the entrance on the Second Street side of the building: "The Rentschler Building - A Hamilton Landmark since 1903."
Rentschler's Citizens Bank used the building as its headquarters for decades.
The bank is now Key Bank, which still operates in the building.
