Kentucky obituaries



The Kentucky Enquirer publishes obituaries of residents in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties as a free service. Obituaries are published based on available space each day and may be held until space is available. Information is accepted from funeral homes 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. Campbell County

Bertha Combs

FORT THOMAS - Bertha Combs, 74, a homemaker, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital in Fort Thomas.

Her husband, Cecil, died in 1992.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Kennedy of Bellevue; three sons, Billy of Covington, Gene of Newport, and Kenny of Latonia; two sisters, Cindy Milands of Jackson, Ky., and Emaline Edwards of Covington; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today and service 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Mary Bishop

NEWPORT - Mary Andras Bishop, 90, a secretary for CSX Railroad and member of Christian Tabernacle in Newport, died June 20 at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jack Bishop, in 1991.

Surviving are a daughter, Nicki Bishop of Newport, and a brother, Ted Andras of Michigan.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Newport. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Memorials: Christian Tabernacle, 325 Washington Ave., Newport, KY 41071.

Samuel Reeves

DRY RIDGE - Samuel Reeves, 78, a retired mover for Global Moving Co. in Cincinnati, died Monday at his home.

Surviving are a son, Steve of Hyde Park; two daughters, Sharon Boling of Powell, Tenn., and Ramona Johnston of Harriman, Tenn.; a brother, Lloyd Reeves of Middletown, Ohio; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon and service noon today at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Kenton County

William R. Evans

COVINGTON - William R. Evans, 82, a former bricklayer for Newport Steel, died Tuesday at his home.

He was a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Union Local 2 in Newport.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel A. Kent Evans.

Surviving are a son, Steven of Walton; a daughter, Cheryl Read of Union; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

No visitation. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Covington. Cremation will be at Southwest Ohio Crematory in Milford.

Louella Clifton

ERLANGER - Louella Clifton, 75, a retired cook and a member of Elsmere Baptist Church, died Wednesday at Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Sr., in 1998.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Skidmore, and Diana Mohr, both of Erlanger; two sons, Billy Jr. of Owenton, Ky., and Timmy of Florence; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

No visitation. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Stith Funeral Home in Florence is handling arrangements.

Memorials: Elsmere Baptist Church, 250 Garvey Ave., Elsmere, KY 41018.

Mary Heinrichs

ERLANGER - Mary Martha Heinrichs, 78, formerly of Southgate, a homemaker, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.

She was a member of St. Therese Church in Southgate, and of the church's altar society and Super Seniors group.

Her husband, Charles, died in 1996.

Surviving are four daughters, Eleanor Blanchet of Southgate, Rose Stoeckle of Edgewood, Tina Steinnecker of Fort Wright, and Dorothy Pangallo of Cold Spring; five sons, C. Anthony Heinrichs of San Diego, Robert of Alexandria, Leo of Cold Spring, John of Edgewood, and Frank of Fort Mitchell; a brother, David Stratman of Madeira; a sister, Sue Gronck of Covington; and 13 grandchildren.

Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 a.m. today at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Therese Church, Southgate. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Memorials: St. Therese Church Building Fund, 11 Temple Place, Southgate, KY 41071.

Marcella M. Schrage

FORT WRIGHT - Marcella M. Schrage, 83, owner of Schrage Hardware & Gift Shop in Ludlow from 1964-'86, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Covington.

She was a member of SS. Boniface & James Church in Ludlow, and a former member of the Ludlow Rotary Club.

Surviving are a brother, Jim Schrage of Indianapolis; and a sister, Virginia Cleary of Columbus, Ohio.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Boniface & James Church in Ludlow. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Memorials: St. Elizabeth Hospice Program, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, KY 41014-9988; or a charity of one's choice.

Elenora Exterkamp

PARK HILLS - Elenora Felthaus Exterkamp, 86, of Homestead, Fla., formerly of Park Hills, a former department store sales clerk, died April 22 at her home in Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 1990.

Surviving are three sons, David of Seminole, Fla., Josh of Homestead, Fla., and Donald of Canoga Park, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Felthaus of Fort Mitchell, and Lawrence Felthaus of Erlanger; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be 4:30 p.m. today at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home in Ludlow is handling arrangements.
