Give in to Temptations at zoo's 'Wild Nights'

Weekend best bets

The temperature may be hot, but so are the Temptations.

The venerable Motown group featuring Otis Williams will perform as part of the "Wild Nights at the Zoo" concert series at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Tickets, including all-day zoo admission, are $32 and $40. Call Ticketmaster at 562-4949 or visit the Web at www.ticketmaster.com.

Some other best bets for weekend entertainment to help you plan today and Sunday:

Enquirer movie critic Margaret McGurk gave Together - a movie about a Chinese violinist and his peasant father - 31/2 stars for its sincerity and sentimentality. The picture, which is in Mandarin with English subtitles, is at the Esquire theater on Ludlow Avenue, Clifton.

• For those who haven't had enough fireworks, Paramount's Kings Island sets off another "Night of Fire: An Eiffel Tower Spectacular" - where the Eiffel Tower and the Royal Fountain explode with color - tonight. Regular park admission required. Visit www.pki.com for information and tickets or call (513) 754-5700.

• The patriotism continues Sunday with the Star-Spangled Celebration, presented by the Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church Cathedral and Wesley choirs. A patriotic program will be presented at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1345 Grace Ave. Call 871-1345.

• Finally, spice up your weekend at the Island Fiesta noon-8 p.m. today at Coney Island. The Latino-themed event includes live music, arts and crafts and a children's area. It's free. Parking is $5. Call (513) 232-8230.
