Heather French Henry, the Maysville beauty queen who wed Lt. Gov. Steve Henry, gave birth to the couple's second child shortly after midnight Friday.
The baby girl weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces, and the couple named her Taylor Augusta Henry.
Henry, Miss America in 2000, gave birth at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
The name originates from Heather Henry's mother, whose maiden name was Taylor, and Heather Henry's childhood home of Augusta on the Ohio River. She later moved to nearby Maysville, where the couple still maintains a home.
"I think it says a lot of the town," Augusta Mayor John Laycock said Friday. "It's a positive image. Obviously she treasured the time here and benefited from it."
The couple's first daughter, Harper, will turn 2 on Sunday.
The couple wed Oct. 27, 2000, in a lavish black-tie ceremony in Louisville. They were already hot gossip when their three-year friendship blossomed into romance the year before.
Earlier this year, Heather Henry dispelled rumors she considered running for the Fourth Congressional District seat held by Boone County Democrat Ken Lucas. A Democrat, Henry always has had political aspirations and used her Miss America role to crusade for Vietnam veterans and the homeless.
